Caves Languedoc Roussillon, Orimos Rouge 2020

Located in the stunningly beautiful town of Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert (a UNESCO world heritage site), Caves Languedoc Roussillon boasts some of the best terroir for producing exceptional, fruit-driven wine. "Orimos" is the Greek word for ripeness, which is the key in determining when best to harvest and make this stunningly fruity red. Made from the classic GSM (Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre) blend for which the south of France is best known, the grapes were harvested & fermented separately before being aged together for 12 months in new French oak. A soft nose with notes of ripe raspberry, juicy blackberry and vanilla moves to a rich yet balanced palate with further fruity notes and a nice toasty finish. A great wine to pair with mature cheeses or roasts.
